Saturn was visibly in January 2001 in Constillation Taurus near the Plejades high in the sky. The sight was in a angle of 23° to the south side from System of rings.

Saturn: 6th planet of solar system; middle solar distance: 1.427.000.000 km; diameter: 120.000 km; mass: 95,15 x mass of earth; density: 0.7 g/cm³; surface temperature: -170°C; revolution time: 29 years, 168 days.
Saturn certainly ist the most acquainted celestial body. His beauty, even to see with little telescopes, is breath-taking, and biger telescopes shows details of ring-structure and the colourful stripes in theother zones of atmosphere. The rings consists of milliards of pieces, (presumably water und methan-ice with a diameter of only few centimeters to more meters.
