Fire-brigade

Since 1994 I'm member of the Freiwillige Feuerwehr (at first FKUR and HFM in Altenberg, now FKUR in Vorderstoder). The voluntary commitment to the society I concider to be very important. Apart from other rescue services (Red-Cross, ASB, Malteser, mountain rescue service,...) also this voluntary dedication is possible in the Freiwillige Feuerwehr (fire-brigade). My special interest in fire-brigade is pilot, radio and telecommunications, further rescue-diving.
Particularly as an Upper-Austrian you sympathize with the fire brigade, one of our homeland-saints also is patron saint of fire-brigades - St. Florian.

ST. FLORIAN WAS THE MOST IMPOTANT LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICER OF THE ROMAN GOVERNOR FROM NORICUM RIPENSE. AT THE DIOCLETIAN CHRISTIAN-PERSECUTION HE GAVE UP HIS CAREER FOR CHRISTIAN CREED'S SAKE. BEING WORRIED ABOUT HIS RELIGIOUS BROTHERS HE CAME TO LAURIACUM. HERE HE WAS ARRESTED AND CONDEMNED TO DEATH BY DROWNING. THE VERDICT WAS EXECUTED ON MAY 4th 304 NEAR THE RIVER-ENNS-BRIDGE. AT THAT TIME DIED FURTHER CHRISTIANS AS MARTYRS, WHOSE REDISCOVERED RELICS REST IN THE NEW HIGH ALTAR OF THE BASILICA OF LORCH.
